Description

The Hayward Heavy Duty Clamp (SX310N) is the OEM replacement filter clamp for Hayward ProSeries sand filters, securing the multiport valve to the filter tank with a one-piece stainless steel construction.

What It Does

This clamp wraps the joint between the multiport valve and the filter tank, compressing the connection to maintain a pressure-tight seal during filter operation. The one-piece stainless steel band with captive T-bolt eliminates the flex and potential leak points associated with two-piece plastic clamp designs.

Before installing the new clamp, inspect the mating surfaces of the valve and filter tank collar for cracks or deformation that could prevent the clamp from seating evenly. Tighten the T-bolt nut until the clamp ends are snug and the joint is fully compressed — over-tightening can distort the band and compromise the seal. Slide the rubber protective cap over the exposed bolt end after tightening to prevent corrosion on the thread.
