Description
The Hayward Bypass Kit (HAXBPK1932) is the OEM replacement bypass assembly for Hayward Universal H-Series, ED1, and ED2 gas heaters manufactured after October 28, 2000.
IMPORTANT: CONFIRM YOUR HEATER MANUFACTURE DATE BEFORE ORDERING
This kit is designed for H-Series, ED1, and ED2 heaters built after October 28, 2000. Earlier heaters use a different bypass kit with brass fittings and a shorter baffle with only two holes total. Verify your heater’s manufacture date on the unit’s rating label before ordering.
This bypass kit regulates water flow through the heater’s heat exchanger, protecting the unit from thermal stress at varying flow rates. The kit includes all components required for a complete bypass assembly replacement: a black plastic baffle, a round plastic bypass end, a stainless steel bypass shaft and plug, a bypass spring, and the HAXHOR1930 header O-ring.
The bypass baffle is rectangular with a rounded end. The rounded end features a single 1-3/8″ diameter hole for the flow control thermostat, plus two 5/8″ diameter holes adjacent to it. The molded part marking “0101421101” appears on the bottom of the baffle.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
When installing this bypass kit, take note of the new HAXHOR1930 header O-ring included in the kit — replace it at the same time rather than reusing the old O-ring. A fresh O-ring seat prevents header leaks after reassembly. If your heater was manufactured before October 28, 2000, this kit will not fit; the earlier version uses brass fittings and a shorter baffle with only two holes.
