The Pentair O-Ring (071439Z) is the OEM replacement O-ring for the SM and SMBW 4000 Series pool and spa D.E. filters.

Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.

This O-ring maintains the pressure seal within the SM and SMBW 4000 Series D.E. filter housing. A worn or cracked O-ring is a common cause of water leaks at filter joints — replacing it restores a watertight seal and returns the filter to proper operating pressure.
