Description

The Pentair Strainer Basket (C8-58PZ) is the OEM replacement pump strainer basket for the Max-E-Pro, IntelliPro, and Dyna-Pro series inground pool pumps.

The IntelliPro Variable Speed Pump compatibility applies to models manufactured before 2019 only. Verify your model year before ordering if your pump is an IntelliPro VS unit.

The strainer basket sits inside your pump’s strainer pot and captures leaves, debris, and other large particles before water reaches the impeller. A cracked, deformed, or missing basket allows debris to pass through and can cause impeller damage and reduced flow. Replacing a worn basket restores the pump’s first line of debris protection and helps extend impeller life.

When you have the strainer pot open for basket replacement, inspect the pot lid O-ring at the same time. A degraded lid O-ring is the most common source of air leaks at the pump — catching it during this service visit saves a repeat opening. Also check the basket for hairline cracks along the rim and base, which can allow fine debris to bypass the basket even when it appears intact.
