The tapered profile of this basket is specific to the Admiral skimmer — a flat-bottomed or straight-sided basket from another skimmer model will not seat correctly and may allow debris to bypass the basket entirely. When replacing, confirm the basket handle is intact, as a missing handle makes field removal difficult. Inspect the basket for cracks or deformed tines at each seasonal opening, and replace before damage is extensive enough to pass debris through to the pump.
